Neil Chakrabarty currently lives in South Charleston, West Virginia, and has been reading and watching science fiction since he was 10 years old. His tastes are technical and in military science fiction. Neil Chakrabarty served in the US Army during the Cold War as an M1 Abrams Tank Mechanic. Neil Chakrabarty has also served as a computer software consultant, writing code for telecoms, lawyers, mental health facilities, entrepreneurs, and the West Virginia State Government. Neil Chakrabarty retired in August 2023 as Chief Technology Officer for the WV Department of Environmental Protection after working continuously since April 1996. Neil Chakrabarty has a Bachelor of Computer Engineering from West Virginia University. Neil Chakrabarty lives with his family of five.
